Your mission is to lead and scale a high-performing Applied Science organisation at the intersection of research and product-setting strategy, raising the bar on scientific excellence, and shipping reliable, cost-efficient ML systems that power UiPath while diving into models when it matters and shaping roadmaps, talent, and cross-functional execution.
What You'll Do At UiPath:
- Org Scope: Build and lead a multi-disciplinary team of applied scientists across core product lines (document understanding, UI automation, agents).
- Launch and scale: UiPath's new London site.
- Stack: Python, PyTorch, numpy, scikit, Langgraph, and various agentic frameworks.
- Outcomes: Deliver quantifiable improvements in model quality, latency, cost efficiency, safety, and reliability through rapid research-to-production cycles.
Requirements include 10+ years in applied ML, including 4+ years leading multi-team organisations delivering production ML systems. Deep ML expertise, with strong foundations in math, statistics, and computer science. Proficiency in modern ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow/JAX) and distributed systems. Exceptional communication skills – able to simplify complex topics for executives and provide precise technical guidance to teams. Values: Kind, motivated, self-starting, and responsible.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in enterprise SaaS, automation, or developer platforms.
- Experience running large-scale evaluation and optimizing models.
- State of the art knowledge in one of the following: LLMs, NLP or Computer Vision, with publications, patents or OSS contributions in this space.
