United Infrastructure is looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our team. As part of a dynamic, fast‑growing division, you will be at the heart of nationally significant infrastructure projects that shape the future of the UK. Our company operates in two key sectors: Utility Infrastructure – designing, building and maintaining essential water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure for the country’s largest network owners and operators; and Social Infrastructure – revitalising homes and communities through retrofit, refurbishment and maintenance work.
Responsibilities
- Measuring completed works and approving subcontractor supply‑chain applications.
- Contract management in line with JTC, NEC 3/4 (Options A & C).
- Negotiating subcontractor agreements, managing payments and tracking performance.
- Delivering accurate and timely completed‑works measures and billing processes.
- Producing monthly cost‑value reconciliation and generating earned‑value analysis reports while keeping robust commercial documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in NHF SoR Rates or similar bespoke SoR rates.
- Familiarity with the construction industry.
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9‑4 (C or above), including Mathematics, English and preferably Science.
- Previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Basic understanding of standard measurement methods.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and strong communication/interpersonal abilities.
- Enthusiasm, commitment, flexibility and willingness to take responsibility for personal development.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required.
