Our client is a dynamic and innovative supplier specializing in premium and fashion knitwear design and development for global retailers and brands. Their focus is on innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability, offering co-creation services and seasonal design direction for their customers. As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking a Mens Knitwear Designer with strong experience in fashion/premium brands to join their UK team. This is a great opportunity to design for leading UK and European brands. You will also be part of a growing UK-based Centre of Excellence driving the future of sustainable and fashion-forward knitwear.
The Role:
- Design and develop men’s knitwear collections aligned with the company's creative direction and customer briefs.
- Research and forecast seasonal trends, yarn innovations, and stitch techniques relevant to UK and European markets.
- Create detailed technical design packs, including CADs, colorways, and fabric/yarn selections.
- Collaborate with the technical and sampling teams to ensure design intent is maintained through to final product.
- Support customer presentations, concept proposals, and range reviews.
- Work on co-creation projects with major fashion and premium retail brands.
- Contribute to innovation projects integrating sustainability and digital design tools (3D, CLO, or equivalent).
The Candidate:
- Degree in Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, or Textiles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing knitwear for fashion or premium brands in the UK or Europe.
- Strong understanding of yarn, gauge, and machine capabilities.
- Experience with trend analysis and mood board creation.
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D software (CLO/Browzwear – an advantage).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for innovation, sustainability, and detail-oriented design.
