Our client is a dynamic and innovative co-creation partner for major UK retailer
brands, covering Knitwear, Lingerie, and Activewear. As part of their growth strategy, they are looking to attract talented individuals to work closely with their in-house design and global supply chain teams. As part of their growth plans they are seeking experienced knitwear professionals to be part of their newly created knitwear unit.
Knitting Programmer β The Role:
β’ Learn and master Shima Seiki programming as well as the technical elements of flat knitting machines (SSR, SVR).
β’ Ensure products are developed in a manner consistent with the requested fit, quality standards, manufacturing capabilities and cost specifications to the optimum.
β’ Take Buyers/ Designer ideas & specifications to create a knitting program for samples & production.
β’ To keep management updated of upcoming technologies to support business growth through regular R&D.
β’ Train & develop the skill level of programmers through regular training & guidance.
β’ Conduct program and machine testing to optimize performance & efficiency.
β’ Ensure accurate information/ data regarding time & feasibility is given to costing cell, I.E, & marketing.
β’ Liaise with customer (local/ overseas) to resolve day to day issues.
β’ Attend meetings with customer representatives for any programming related issues.
Knitting Programmer β The Candidate:
HND or higher qualification, especially in flat knitting technology
1-2-years experience in sweaters
Sound knowledge of computer operations
An understanding of the basics of knitting
