Job Overview
The role is part of Morecambe South District Nurses, a district nursing service delivering high quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the community setting. It requires working flexibly over 7 days, including weekends and evening shifts.
Main Duties of the Job
- Conduct complex nursing assessments and develop and deliver programmes of care for patients and carers in their homes and the community.
- Support a 24‑hour district nursing service to ensure continuous service delivery.
- Collaborate with health and social care professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent patient care.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, training and occupational health services.
- Drive a UK-registered vehicle where necessary.

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse on the relevant part of the register for the post.
- Mentoring and assessment qualification or equivalent, or working towards one.
- Post‑registration clinical course appropriate to the area (or willingness to undertake further training).
- ECDL or equivalent computer skills.
Experience and Skills
- Evidence of professional and personal development via a portfolio.
- Experience of establishing effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience of implementing change and working within designated areas.
- Previous experience within a community nursing setting.
- Experience of mentoring and assessing members of the team.
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence required.
