Job overview
Health care assistants are invited to join Millom Community Hospital.
Positions are 45 hours per week distributed based on each candidate’s preferred schedule.
Band 3 roles mainly cover the ward, with occasional district support.
Applicants should ideally possess previous experience in a health‑care setting, including nursing‑home experience.
The trust operates an internal rotation system covering a variety of shift times.
Shift patterns include
- Night: 19:30‑07:30 (7 days per week, including weekends)
- District nursing: 08:30‑16:30 (7 days per week)
Main duties
The health care assistant takes direction from the nurse in charge and provides a high standard of care to in‑patients and community patients.
Duties include supporting team members, demonstrating flexibility in working relationships, and responding to emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care to patients.
- Keep up to date with training and learning.
- Work efficiently as a team member.
- Respect patients, MDT members and colleagues.
Qualifications and experience
- Basic nursing care skills experience
- Knowledge of Millom Hospital services
- Care certificate (or willingness to complete one)
