Job Overview
We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals for the Emergency Department Team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, ideally with acute care experience but this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to provide nursing care and assistance to patients as specified by the RN.
- Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
- Take clinical observations.
- Provide minor injury treatments and plaster casts.
- Assist with streaming and rapid assessment at the front door to support a better patient experience and journey.
Qualifications and Experience
- Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in a care related area.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Manual handling of patients using lifting aids.
