Job overview

To be responsible for providing a comprehensive Administrative support
service to a Community Service Team within the Integrated Community
Services Care Group.

You will be supporting the Integrated Community Stroke Team (ICST), a bay-wide service with the role based within the Furness Team. There are two office locations at FGH and Fairfield Lane. The team includes a Team Lead (your line manager), Clinical Leads, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Assistant Practitioners. You will also work closely with administrative support at Lancaster to ensure appropriate cover across the bay.

The team covers the entire stroke pathway, from acute care (inpatients) to community rehabilitation, and you will play a key role in supporting this full pathway.

Main duties of the job

The post involves telephone contact with staff and patients, utilising a variety of IT packages, note/file preparation, inputting patient data in to EPR systems, support with audit (SSNAP data for stroke), attending meetings, taking minutes, preparing spreadsheets and audit information under guidance of the team lead, archiving patient notes, photocopying, scanning, designing and preparing templates and information leaflets.

Working for our organisation

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Person specification

  • 3 GCSEs Grade C or above including English Language
  • NVQ level 3 in admin or equivalent
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Ability and experience of using Microsoft office tools
  • Experience of Minute Taking
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to analyse and interpret data
  • Ability to travel between other office sites
