We are looking for a new Deputy Team Leader to join our busy and dynamic Trauma Theatre at UHL.This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role, working closely with the Band 7 to support the safe and effective running of our service. In this fast-paced environment, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for individuals who can lead by example, role model high standards of practice, and inspire confidence within the team.Theatre experience is essential, as you will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day theatre activity, supporting colleagues, and maintaining the high standards expected across the Trust, while also working clinically alongside the Trauma team.
Key responsibilities include:supporting the Band 7 with the operational management of the theatrepromoting a strong safety cultureensuring compliance with Trust and national standards,mentoring and supporting staff,Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Main duties of the job
Visible clinical expertise, leading multi-disciplinary teams daily to provide direction, effective and inspirational leadership within the area of responsibility.
Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence based care to patients.
Co-ordination and supervision of staff involved in all aspects of clinical duties
Deputise and manage the clinical area in absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader
Participate in the effective clinical leadership and management of the team.
Actively contribute to the improvement of services and quality of care provision to meet the needs of patients, service users and their families.
Act as a role model; mentoring, teaching, assessing and supporting students/learners on placement and participate in the education, development and mentorship of other staff.

Job responsibilities
Support Team Leader/Matron to ensure clinical environment is safe, clean, comfortable and well maintained in line with patient and public expectations.
Ensure delivery of care to all patients when in charge meet the standards determined by the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader.
Ensure self and team members provide a personalised service to patients in accordance with agreed standards and promotes quality, diversity and rights.
Contribute to setting, maintaining and monitoring of standards of care to optimum levels and lead improvement of care through benchmarking, audit and research.
In the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse/Team Leader ensure adequate support, safe mentorship and supervision of learner nurses and staff.
Proactively seek feedback on patient and public experience in order to address concerns in a timely manner and build on success.

Training & Qualifications
- oRecognised NMC Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent
- oEvidence of Post registration Educational Continuing development
- oEvidence of ongoing professional developmentoDegree in nursing or health related subject
- oClinical Leadership Programme(e.g. LEO, RCN, ILM
Experience
- oEvidence of a number of years post registration experience of which a number of them are at a senior level in the capacity of Nurse In Charge within the speciality
- oDemonstrates a high level of clinical expertise
- oGood understanding of quality, safety and risk management
- oKnowledge of the role in the context of local and National plans and professional strategies to deliver services within the current and future NHS.
- o Experience of Patient and Public Involvement and qualitative data collection application to improving patient experience.
- oDemonstrates knowledge of clinical risk management
- oAudit experience / research skills
- oDevelopment of multi disciplinary working practices
