UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading colleges for Further and Higher Education and a key partner in the University of the Highlands and Islands, Scotland’s newest university. We are seeking to appoint a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer to provide specialist leadership and professional advice across the College on all matters relating to health, safety and wellbeing.

This is a key technical role, responsible for supporting a safe, legally compliant and proactive health and safety culture for staff, students and visitors. The post holder will operate as a stand‑alone technical specialist, reporting to the Estates Manager. Using a high degree of autonomy, the post holder will be able to build credible relationships and influence effectively, and have a visible, approachable presence across the College.

The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in health and safety management, strong knowledge of current legislation and best practice, and the capability to develop trusted relationships with managers at all levels. The role involves delivering training, conducting investigations and audits, preparing reports for senior management and the Board, and liaising with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive and sector networks.
