UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands. We are looking for an Engineering Lecturer with experience in electrical and electronic systems to support the delivery of our expanding team and Engineering programmes.
At UHI Perth we offer a suite of Engineering courses from craft level to degree, SCQF level 4 to 10. You would teach predominantly at levels 7 to 10. The post includes the development and delivery of online teaching and in-country in China within our international programme portfolio, as well as on-campus teaching. The campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience with a well-balanced mix of lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories and training workshops.
As a lecturer, you will shape the future of the next generation of engineers through your teaching and wider scholarly activity, which may include research and consultancy. Within your specialisation, you will prepare learning, teaching and assessment materials; deliver both theoretical and practical teaching; supervise student project work; and contribute to the ongoing development of our engineering programmes.
Candidates should, as a minimum, hold a master’s degree in an Engineering related discipline. Industry experience would be a strong advantage. Previous teaching experience and ability to teach across broad engineering disciplines is desirable. In addition, you should be a well-motivated self-starter with good communication skills who is able to work effectively with a team. It is essential that you demonstrate a strong commitment to learners and a clear awareness of current engineering requirements within industry.
