We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated student to work with us as a Student Technician Intern (STEAM) on a fixed term contract for 10 months. Supporting the operations of our UHI and UHI Inverness STEAM Team, we are looking for a student with an interest in STEAM and confident in the use of Microsoft packages including Excel, looking for work experience alongside their studies.
Job Purpose: Applications are being invited from students at UHI Inverness who are studying towards a STEAM Qualification.
Key Accountabilities:
- Your main role will be to work with the UHI STEAM delivery team by collating orders and preparing UHI Discovery Kits for courier collection.
- Receiving equipment from them, storing this safely after a hygiene and maintenance check, as well as maintaining the equipment store inventory.
- This opportunity will have you partaking in a wide range of responsibilities including the opportunity to work on a mutually agreed project with the Head of STEAM development that can enhance the work of the UHI STEAM team.
Qualifications:
- SCQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent (for example HNC, SVQ3 in a relevant discipline). At Intern level, working towards this level of qualification is acceptable.
- IT skills in MS Office.
- Ability to work on own and as part of a team focused on ensuring key deadlines are met.
- Ability to prioritise and organise tasks effectively.
