Student Intern – Science

6 hours per week (0.17 FTE)

9 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Salary Grade A, £25,725 - £25,970 per annum pro-rata 1 FTE

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated member of staff to work with us as a Student Intern Science on a Fixed term contract.

Job Purpose:

Applications are being invited from students with experience in the Science, Technology and/or Engineering fields of study.

Key Accountabilities:

This exciting opportunity will have you partaking in a wide range of responsibilities including maintaining and preparing materials and equipment for practical lab sessions, presenting at Open Day/Evening events to promote the study of Science and ensuring a safe day to day running of the science area.

Essential Criteria:

SCQF Level 6 qualification or equivalent (for example HNC, SVQ 3 in a relevant discipline)/ or experience in a technical/lab environment. At Intern level, working towards this level of qualification is acceptable

IT skills in MS Office

Ability to work effectively as a team member in a fast-moving environment, providing an effective service to a wide variety of clients

Ability to prioritise and organise individual and team tasks effectively and in accordance with the requirements of service level agreements

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG Scheme check through Disclosure Scotland prior to commencing employment.
