We have an excellent opportunity for a
CNC Engineer with experience in milling. CNC Engineer Miller Setter and Operator with the ability to amend and ideally write programme on machine.
Reporting into the Production Manager.
The candidate must be experienced in aerospace engineering sector, working with high tolerance parts.
They will be required to program, set and run a variety of 1 st operation machine tools, CNC machines inclusive of mills, additional knowledge of fixed and/or sliding heads desirable, in line with health and safety legislation.
Responsible for coordination of programming and setting to point of satisfactory first off and review current product ranges to improve efficiency of manufacture.
The candidate will endeavour to reduce waste and improve productivity, inline with zero defect philosophy, through increased effectiveness and efficiency whenever possible.
Purpose of Role
Set and Run 1 st Operations CNC Mills, with programming abilities using 3 and 4 axis’ (Including Bridgeport Vertical Mill with Heinenahim Controls and Haas Mill with Fanuc controls)
- Able to set and Run CNC machines including fixed head, sliding head, Lathes and Bar feeders (including Dooson, Hardinge, Mori and Star)
- Support as required, with set and run 2 nd Operations machinery safely – thread rollers, grinding, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers and deburrers (manual/rotary etc).
- Work confidently with material from Aluminium, stainless steels and Inconel.
- Coordination of all programming and setting activities, coordinating with other existing setters.
- Carry out first-off and job run inspection of 2 nd Op Machine parts
- Carry out first-off buddy checks and job run inspection of 1 st and 2 nd Operations machine parts.
- Reduce scrap/rework reporting back efficiencies to the Production Manager.
- Maintain machine efficiency to ensure we comply with On Time Deliveries, Arrears, Parts Per Hour (PPH) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Manufacture good quality products in line with agreed standards and quality procedures.
- Complete daily maintenance check sheets and cycle timesheets.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment is always maintained.

Strong understanding of aerospace standards.
- Programme, Set and Run Mills (including HAAS and Bridgeport)
- Desirable: Run, Set 1 st and 2 nd Ops machining tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong measurement skills using varied tooling.
- Team Player and communicate with colleagues to ensure the implementation of the company’s policies and goals
- Attention to detail, including numeracy, and quality performance.

- 16 days flexible annual leave entitlement (based on four day working week) plus bank holidays. An additional 4 fixed days annual leave allowance for Christmas closure period
- Working hours Monday to Thursday 0645-1630; 37-hour week (15 minute paid break and 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
