Web Developer/IT – Job Vacancy
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Web developer/IT Officer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hardware, web development, and e-commerce platforms. This role requires someone with corporate IT experience, a solid educational background, and a passion for learning and growth.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web developer to join our team (part time with potential to become full time). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware, networking, web development, and e-commerce platforms, along with experience in video editing. This role requires technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
E-Commerce expertise : Develop, update, and maintain websites using WordPress, Shopify, and other platforms.
- Create and maintain website structures to ensure compatibility with search engines, browsers, and mobile interfaces
- Develop sites that are easy to navigate and contain relevant content
- Update existing pages to improve their conversions, usability, or visibility
- Analyze existing sites to identify opportunities for improvement and suggest changes that will reduce costs or increase sales
- Develop, test, and deploy new features, optimizations, or bug fixes
Video Editing & Digital Presence: Optimize online platforms and assist with digital marketing efforts, video editing including YouTube and social media management.
- Customer Support: Assist in addressing IT-related queries and providing technical guidance to team members. Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly
Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation
· IT Infrastructure & Networking: Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the organisation. Manage and maintain IT hardware, networks, and related infrastructure.
· Data Security & Backup Management: Implement and oversee backup solutions and ensure data security best practices. Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software
· Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide IT support and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven 5 years experience of IT/ web development and video editing within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in web development and e-commerce platforms (WordPress, Shopify, etc.).
- Strong understanding of backup procedures, security measures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Currently enrolled in or completed Level 3 (or above) IT qualification (having completed Levels 1 & 2).
- Degree or similar qualification in web development, computer Science or IT.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive learning mindset.
- Experience in customer service and technical support.
- Familiarity with social media management, particularly YouTube.
