What you bring: 3+ years’ industry experience. Volunteer as a mentor with UEL and help students build skills, grow confidence, and take the next step in their careers.
What are we looking for? The School of Psychology is looking for candidates who are fully qualified clinical psychologists (BACP, UKCP, HPCP, BPS or equivalent).
What will you be doing? The University’s Mentoring offer provides the opportunity for employed, self-employed, retired and other experienced professionals to support, guide and inspire current students and recent graduates with two distinct programmes.
- Power Hour — A one-off, one-hour session to provide tailored guidance to soon-to-be graduates.
- Career Mentoring — A 4-month mentoring relationship designed to support students with developing their career readiness. This programme runs twice in the academic year.
As a Mentor you will support your mentee with their goals, which may include:
- Developing interpersonal and employability skills
- Understanding the link between academic studies and career aspirations
- Exploring career pathways and career planning
- Improving confidence and self-esteem
- Developing professional networks
