About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and values-driven Wellbeing Manager to join the University of East Anglia’s Wellbeing Service. The Wellbeing Manager (Advice & Engagement) is a key role within Student Journey and Support Services team. Working closely with the Head of Wellbeing, Heads of Department and other senior colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in leading, developing and delivering high-quality wellbeing and disability provision for students.
You will have operational responsibility for the Wellbeing Advisory Service, providing day‑to‑day leadership and line management to a team of Wellbeing Advisers which includes offering advice and guidance on casework, monitoring demand, capacity and waiting times, and ensuring agreed performance targets are met. You will ensure that students are supported in a holistic, timely and student‑centred way.
A core aspect of the role is supporting the University to meet its statutory responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010, including the provision of reasonable adjustments, and promoting inclusive practice across the institution. You will contribute to service development, operational planning, reporting on key performance indicators, staff recruitment and development, and the promotion of wellbeing and disabled student support.
You will bring substantial experience of working in student wellbeing, disability and/or mental health support and/or contribution to service delivery and operational planning. You will have a strong understanding of the higher education environment and be confident leading and supporting staff in a demanding setting. Experience of working within policy frameworks, managing competing priorities and contributing to service improvement is essential.
The post is available immediately on an indefinite basis and can be offered on a full‑time or part‑time basis (minimum 0.8 FTE). This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
