The predicted salary is between 31236 - 37694 £ per year.

Salary on appointment will be £31,236 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £37,694 per annum (pro rata). This part‑time (0.6) post is available on a fixed‑term basis of 11 months from 1 September 2026. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tutor to join the School of Media, Language and Communication Studies to deliver lectures and seminars, carry out teaching‑related duties and supervise undergraduate dissertations. You will teach on undergraduate and potentially postgraduate programmes where required, planning and preparing for the academic cycle, organising and developing teaching and learning materials. You will take responsibility for the delivery and assessment of specific English language modules and administrative duties required to sustain the delivery of high‑quality teaching of our English language provision.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and seminars, including postgraduate if required.
  • Plan, prepare, and organise teaching and learning materials for the academic cycle.
  • Supervise undergraduate dissertations.
  • Deliver and assess specific English language modules.
  • Perform administrative duties to sustain high‑quality delivery of teaching.

Qualifications

  • A graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in a similar role with breadth and depth of knowledge in a specific subject area.
  • Essential experience of academic English and English language teaching to non‑native speakers at undergraduate level, including student assessment (coursework, examinations, dissertations).
  • Experience of course construction and planning and teaching at postgraduate level considered advantageous.
