We are offering an exciting opportunity to work on a funded research project helping to develop more accessible anxiety measures in stroke. The successful candidate will travel to stroke rehabilitation wards in the region and support data collection by administering a series of mental health questionnaires to stroke survivors. They will work with patients who may have varying needs and difficulties, such as communication problems and mental health difficulties. The appointee will also support consent-taking and assessing capacity if required.

The appointee will be a Speech and Language Therapy graduate and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience of working in clinical environments, especially on wards, is advantageous.
The role requires a high level of autonomy, involving weekly planning of research activities and close collaboration with colleagues. This part-time (22.5 hours/0.6 FTE) post is available from 26 October 2026 on a fixed-term basis of 6 months.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Vulnerable Adult Barred List.
