Overview
Research Associate position at Norwich Medical School, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Funding supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Research to research sedation from antipsychotics, its measurement, and impacts on patient outcomes in NHS services.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment of clinical participants (with NHS colleagues and wider networks)
- Obtaining consent and data collection
- Input into analysis and write up
- Administration of project meetings and dissemination of research findings
The research will involve working closely with NHS mental health services, particularly Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), which is jointly hosting the project.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant subject (e.g., psychology)
- Strong organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in conducting research or working in the NHS (psychosis) is advantageous
- Willingness to undertake regular travel across East Anglia, including Cambridgeshire

- Full-time, fixed-term for 35 months
- Available from 1 April 2026
- Salary on appointment will be £31,236 per annum, with an annual increment up to £37,694 per annum
- Post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced DBS check, including Vulnerable Adult Barred List check
- Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check
