About the Role:

We are seeking to appoint a full time Clinical Professor in Medical Education to join us and continue our program of growth and development at Norwich Medical School. Specifically, this role will act as course director for our established and successful A100 undergraduate medical degree.
As a Clinical Professor in Medical Education, you will provide senior, strategic and academic leadership across teaching, learning and curriculum development within the School. You will contribute to high-quality and innovative medical education, promote inclusive and evidence-informed practice, and offer leadership through formal and informal roles. You will also be asked to represent the University in relevant professional and academic fora, strengthening the School’s profile and contributing to sector developments.
Clinical Professors will support the development of colleagues, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and lead initiatives that enhance widening participation, student employability, community engagement and the University’s civic mission. We are looking for an exceptional medical educationalist, with vision and ambition, who will lead and develop our undergraduate Medicine provision.
Reporting to the Deputy Dean of Norwich Medical School, you will work closely with the Norwich Medical School Senior Leadership team and be supported by an experienced team of medical educators, clinical academics and wider Faculty from across our NHS partners. You will be an inspirational educator who will champion innovation and wider developments across the MB BS degree and Medical School portfolio.
In this role, you will:
- Lead on curriculum design, pedagogical innovation, quality assurance, and regulatory alignment (including GMC)
- Teach and assess across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
- Contribute to clinical education leadership
- Play a major role in developing educational scholarship and research.
- Have significant responsibility for educational strategy, academic governance, staff development in teaching and learning, and fostering partnerships with the NHS, professional bodies, and external stakeholders.
You will have substantial senior leadership experience in undergraduate or postgraduate medical education, with a strong understanding of medical school admissions, contemporary learning theory and pedagogy, assessment methodologies, professionalism, and quality assurance processes. You will hold a postgraduate qualification in Higher Education and be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (or equivalent membership) evidencing a sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and educational leadership.
This full-time Clinical Professorial position is available immediately on an indefinite basis. The role of Course Director will form a core part of this post for a period of five years in the first instance, with extension of this role by agreement.
