This involves putting out road cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible all over the country.
About the Role of Operations Manager:
This is a high profile and critical role within our business. You will oversee all regional activities, including expanding our client base and the delivery and development of the business. Penetrating new markets, you will increase business growth with both new and existing customers, forging new relationships with potential new customers and maintaining solid relationships with current customers to secure repeat business. Whilst motivating and leading your team, you will deliver an effective and efficient first‑class service. You will also ensure that your workforce have relevant training and are equipped with the relevant skills to meet demands.
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and confident individual. Whilst knowledge of the Traffic Management industry is beneficial, we welcome applications from candidates with an Operations, Logistics or Planning background. An excellent communicator and team worker, with experience of successfully identifying and proceeding with new business leads. Adaptable and flexible, you work well in ever‑changing situations and in a fast‑paced environment.
What Good Looks Like For An Operations Manager:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience in the Traffic Management, Construction, Utilities or similar industry
- Experience leading a team within an operational environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships and network with sector stakeholders
- Numeracy skills to manage budgets and bid costings
- Pragmatic and ability to create solutions that meet business needs
- Collaborative in approach
- Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office software and ability to work with other business management systems and use remote technology
- Local knowledge of the region’s construction and maintenance market, particularly National Highways, local authority highway maintenance and utilities highways works
