Depot Supervisor - Traffic Management in Nuneaton

Location: Nuneaton

Salary: Highly competitive, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience, with company van and benefits.

General hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Sunday.

About the Role:

You are responsible for the efficient running of the depot, implementing policies with priority given to health, safety and welfare. You will review the programme of works, liaise with other supervisors to ensure efficient use of depot resources, and ensure that sufficient resources with the correct competencies are available to deliver the works.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively implement the company’s health, safety and environmental policies and promote them at all levels, setting standards in health and safety behaviour.
• Assist the operations manager with programming and delivery of works, ensuring the correct level of resources.
• Follow approved accident and incident reporting process, complete paperwork and provide initial reports.
• Carry out accident investigations, take statements and collect evidence.
• Produce operational documents and drawings for various schemes as required (e.g., method statements, risk assessments, traffic management layout drawings).
• Monitor traffic management sub‑contractors’ timesheets and invoices.
• Support the commercial team by maintaining accurate records of operations (e.g., plant and labour reports).
• Maintain vehicle records.
• Ensure the workforce understands what is required of them and that adequate instruction is given regarding their duties and responsibilities.
• Maintain and develop relationships with sub‑contractors and clients.
• Act on any issues raised that cause concern and resolve them quickly.
• Ensure timely delivery of toolbox talks, safety alerts and memos.
• Undertake site inspections and audits to maintain and improve standards.

Qualifications:

• M6 qualified and M7 preferable.
• Knowledge of Chapter 8.
• Highly experienced in low‑speed traffic management.
• Ability to pass a safety‑critical worker medical.
• Full driving licence, with no more than 6 points.
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Positive “can‑do” attitude.
• Adaptability and flexibility.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience of leading a team in a comparable role.
• Planning and scheduling skills.
• Proficient in the use of a PC and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent communicator and team worker with confidence and ability to deliver presentations to the workforce.
