Job Overview
Internal staff only. Train to become a Registered Nurse through the University of West London (UWL) with funding agreed by the Trust. The programme equips apprentices with the skills to become Band 5 Registered Adult Nurses and obtain registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be able to work full time at 37.5 hours per week.
- Must currently be employed by the Trust.
- Right to work in England for the full duration of the programme.
- Must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years (or meet UK/EEA resident status for EEA nationals). Non‑EEA nationals must have permission to live in the UK and be ordinarily resident for at least 3 years.
- Must meet UK government eligibility criteria for apprenticeship funding and immigration permission that covers the whole programme.
Programme Entry Requirements – University Requirements
- 112 UCAS tariff points.
- Mathematics and English Language GCSE grades 9‑4 or equivalent (Functional Skills Level 2 or DfE compliant alternative).
OR
- Access to Higher Education Diploma in nursing/health or social care/science with at least 60 credits (45 at Level 3 and 15 at Level 2), Merit/Distinction profile.
- Same GCSE or equivalent criteria as above.
Applicants should have undertaken study within the last five years. International qualifications must be comparable to UK certifications.
Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a healthcare environment (through placement, voluntary work or employment).
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Understanding of the nurse role and course requirements.
- Resilience to undertake a full‑time course while employed.
Desirable: Care Certificate; experience working in an acute healthcare environment.
Mandatory and Statutory Training
100 % compliance required.
