The Administration Team for Sexual Health Services is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and hard-working individual to join our department.
Job Summary
We require a team player with good communication and excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to support clinicians and patients efficiently and discreetly.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure high levels of patient and clinical satisfaction by being accessible, patient-focused and a knowledgeable point of contact.
- Support the integrated sexual health service, assist clinicians with patient management, and serve as the main administrative officer for patient pathways (Family Planning, HIV, and Psychosexual Therapy).
- Work within Royal Berkshire Hospital and British Association of Sexual Health and HIV policies and guidelines.
- Daily duties include answering enquiries, scheduling appointments, processing clinic letters, and general clerical tasks while maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
- Reception duties may be required at both Reading and Newbury sites.

Education / Qualification
- Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience; Good School and College (GCSE) or equivalent

Previous Experience
- Experience using IT systems and patient data systems
- Experience scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
- Experience working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment team
- Desirable: Experience handling patient complaints
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to plan, organise and accomplish a variety of concurrent assignments
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to manage and interpret data correctly to inform decision-making
