The predicted salary is between 19900 - 20900 € per year.
This is a part-time post for 30 hours per week, with working hours Monday to Saturday and variable shift of 8 hours per shift (inclusive 30 minute break). The post is based at Bracknell Dialysis Unit, Bracknell Healthspace, Brants Bridge, Bracknell, RG12 9RT and includes a fringe payment of 5% of gross basic salary. As a Healthcare Assistant you will be expected to perform renal-specific competences relating to haemodialysis skills and will be trained in these abilities. You will need some renal specialised knowledge to provide excellent care to haemodialysis patients. After training you will perform these renal specific skills duties as part of the Acute Dialysis Team or in the Chronic Haemodialysis Units. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this post.
Main Duties:
- Preparation of equipment for haemodialysis.
- Pre and post HD observations – blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, glucose monitoring.
- Pre and post HD weighing of patients, including calculation of wheelchair weight.
- Assisting patients with manual handling – transfer using hoist/banana board or SARA Steady.
- Use of therapy monitor.
- Lining and priming of HD machines.
- Disconnecting patients from HD (patients with fistula as vascular access).
- Cleaning and disinfecting of HD machines.
- Appropriate segregation and disposal of waste.
- Monitoring HD material stocking levels and ordering.
- Use online transport booking system (SCAS).
- Efficient use of renal IT system – CV5.
- Escalate concerns when observed in a timely and appropriate manner to the registered nurse.

Person Specification:
Education / Qualification and Training – Essential: Able to evidence a general level of education. Must be able to communicate effectively in English using both verbal and written means of communication.
Education / Qualification and Training – Desirable: QCF Level 3 in Health or Health and Social Care. T Level in Health.
Experience – Essential: Reliable work or study record.
Experience – Desirable: Previous experience of working within the relevant specialty.
