An opportunity has arisen within the dermatology department for a band 5 developmental role into a band 6. The post holder will be supported to undertake in‑house training and a competency framework within 18 months of appointment that supports the developmental role. On completion and sign‑off of the competencies the post holder will be upskilled to a band 6. The post holder will work as a skilled practitioner and is responsible for the delivery of patient‑focused programmes of care, addressing the complex and changing health and wellbeing needs of patients with dermatology‑related conditions.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide high‑quality essential care to patients with dermatological conditions in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner.
- Deliver high‑quality clinical practice, be proactive in clinical decision making, underpinned by theoretical and practical knowledge, and demonstrate improved patient care outcomes.
- Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.
- Support change, monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence‑based practice, clinical audit, research and education.
- Promote and demonstrate best practice by integrating evidence into practice.
- Undertake holistic assessment of patients and carers’ needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care delivery according to changing healthcare needs.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of dermatology condition patterns, markers of progression, and range of treatments available at each stage.
