The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

Personal Care Assistant required for a young man with a high level Spinal Cord Injury. The purpose of this role is to assist with all daily living tasks within the family home, where he lives independently with his partner and two young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Personal care
  • Preparation of food and drinks
  • Assistance with eating and drinking
  • Some household cleaning tasks
  • Moving and handling including hoisting and regular basic physiotherapy exercises

There are an average of 17 hours per week available on a 3‑week rolling rota.

Schedule (3‑week rolling rota):

  • Week 1: Mon & Wed 8am‑4pm
  • Week 2: Tue & Thu 8am‑4pm and Fri 8am‑11am
  • Week 3: Sat & Sun 8am‑4pm

Additional hours may be required to cover staff annual leave/sickness.

Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence with use of own car and willingness to drive the employer’s van when needed is an advantage.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to Embleton, Cockermouth, either by own car or using the regular bus service.
  • Previous experience in supporting someone with health needs would be an advantage, however full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS and clearance which will be funded by the employer.
