We are seeking a confident and passionate Music Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Secondary SEMH school in Tower Hamlets. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to work within a well-established team, supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs through creative and engaging music sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups during music lessons and studio sessions
  • Using Pro Logic and other music equipment (e.g. MIDI keyboards, recording equipment, mixing desks) to support music production
  • Helping students with emotional regulation and behaviour through de-escalation strategies
  • Encouraging engagement through music as a creative outlet for expression and development
  • Assisting in planning and adapting music-based activities to meet individual needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress

Requirements

  • Strong music skills and confidence using Pro Logic and studio equipment
  • Previous experience working within an SEN or SEMH setting
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive approach when supporting students with complex behaviours

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:30pm), offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact, with the potential to secure a long-term or permanent position.
