About the role

Teaching Assistants (TAs) will supplement academic lectures through the delivery of group teaching (for example, in seminars and workshops) and associated duties for students taking modules in the School of Management. Associated duties may include marking of coursework and exams. The post holder will report to the leader of the module(s) they support, and the appointment will be available from 21st September 2026 to 30 June 2027. Salary is £21.68 per hour plus an additional market supplement of £12.54 per hour, making a total of £34.52 per hour (please note, marking is paid at different rates depending on the type of marking and length of scripts). This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff. This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require the right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you

  • Educated to Master's level, or hold equivalent or professional qualifications and experience in a management‑related field relevant to the course modules of interest.
  • Solid knowledge of Accounting or Economics, including a general understanding at an undergraduate level, alongside some familiarity with information and internet economics or Finance/Financial Management.
  • High level of literacy, numeracy, and quantitative skills, and ability to support students in developing strong business writing skills for their reports.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, email, and internet tools.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal – and the ability to engage effectively with students, as well as academic and administrative staff across all levels.
