University College London (UCL) is one of the world's leading universities, founded on the belief that education should be open to all. Today, we are a global institution committed to academic excellence, social impact and progressive thinking. This role sits within the Vice-President External Engagement (VPEE) portfolio, at the heart of how UCL communicates and connects with audiences around the world. Our Brand team plays a vital role in shaping and safeguarding UCL's identity, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects our ambition, creativity and values.
About the role
We are seeking a highly organised and forward-thinking Creative Production Manager to join our Brand team. This is a pivotal role at the centre of the Brand creative team, responsible for leading the end-to-end production of creative projects - from initial brief through to final delivery. You will ensure work is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard, while maintaining effective workflows and a collaborative environment. You will lead multiple creative projects simultaneously, developing clear timelines, structured workflows and delivery plans to ensure key milestones are met.
Working at the heart of the Brand team, you will oversee the flow of projects, allocate resources effectively, and ensure priorities are aligned. Acting as a key liaison between the creative team and colleagues across UCL, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders across Faculties, departments and professional services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will clarify expectations, manage evolving briefs, and maintain open communication throughout delivery. The role includes managing project budgets and external suppliers, ensuring cost-effective delivery without compromising quality.
In collaboration with the Senior Brand Creative Manager, you will support quality assurance and ensure all work aligns with UCL's brand standards and strategic ambitions. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the team by enhancing processes, tools and systems, supporting efficient and collaborative ways of working. In addition, you will play a role within the wider Vice-President External Engagement portfolio, supporting key activities such as graduation ceremonies and student recruitment events.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who demonstrates strong leadership, thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and takes a proactive, relationship-focused approach to delivering creative projects. Please note, this is a fixed-term contract available until end of Jan 2027. The role is available on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2-days per week in our London Kings Cross office.
About you
You will be a confident and experienced creative production or studio manager, ideally with a background in a creative, agency or design-led environment. Educated to degree level in Design, Creative Media, Project Management or a related discipline - or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience - you will bring both strategic understanding and hands-on delivery expertise. You will have proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining clarity, momentum and strong attention to detail.
Highly collaborative in your approach, you will bring excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build positive, productive relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders. You will thrive in a culture that values curiosity, openness and collaboration, and will be able to work effectively within an empathetic and inclusive environment. A commitment to respectful teamwork, thoughtful engagement and continuous learning is essential.
Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, you will build trust, manage expectations, and respond to evolving briefs with professionalism, diplomacy and sound judgement. Your organisational and planning skills will be strong, enabling you to manage workflows, resources and budgets effectively while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. With a solid understanding of the creative process across print, digital and video, you will be experienced in delivering work from concept through to production. You will also have experience managing external suppliers and freelancers, and be familiar with tools such as MS Planner, Asana, Trello or similar. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are essential, enabling you to communicate clearly and collaboratively across all levels.
Above all, you will bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the resilience to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate a clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and align with UCL's Ways of Working – working openly, supporting others, acting with integrity, and contributing to continuous improvement.
