We are now recruiting for a KTP Associate who will work full-time on this innovative project putting the latest academic research into practice, based at The Dentist Balham's offices.

This is a unique opportunity to gain commercial skills and experience, working inside a dynamic business which is changing the face of energy efficiency, and working alongside world-leading academics on an innovative and scientifically rigorous project.

This role offers a springboard to a career in both industry and academia to postgraduates and postdocs interested with a strong background in robotics and medical applications. The successful candidate will get to apply their experience in Python and C++ as well as their experience with robotic system integration and ML techniques on a daily basis to a cutting edge project advancing the integration of robotics in dentistry.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a postgraduate/doctoral degree in Robotics, Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field. The post holder will lead a cutting-edge innovation project that aims to transform dental practice through the integration of robotics and AI. Based at The Dentist Balham, an independent practice combining the high-quality care of private dentistry with the accessibility of a mixed NHS model, the KTP Associate will help develop and embed a product development function within a Dental Automation Research Company and clinical practice, focused on advancing robotic-assisted dental procedures.

The objectives of the project are:

  • Developing a novel dental device designed for robotic integration
  • Incorporating AI and computer vision to enable intelligent robotic assistance in dental procedures

Plus, the successful candidate will be part of the prestigious 50-year-old national Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme offering a dedicated professional development budget, a network of fellow Associates from many disciplines and training and mentoring opportunities. The Associate will also have the opportunity to write publications about their work alongside the academic and company team.

Strong communication skills, a collaborative and self-motivated attitude, and good project management skills will ensure the KTP Associate fully enjoys the benefits of their unique position at the interface between industry and academia, including their close access to medical robotics and AI experts.
