About the role

The Governance Team is responsible for servicing many of the University’s principal committees. The team is currently expanding to take on responsibility for a wider range of committees within the central governance function and to enhance its ability to deliver a high-quality and responsive service.

In the job of Governance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering the meetings of key UCL committees, including attending meetings and writing minutes. You’ll also support the planning of committee business overall, and the ongoing review of committee responsibilities and functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and dynamic team with a commitment to promoting excellence in governance practices and an ethos of continuous improvement. It is also a chance to join a key department in one of the world’s top Universities, providing essential support to an organisation which is leading the way in research and teaching.

About you

To do this job you will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, an ability to absorb, understand and summarise complex information, report-writing or committee servicing experience, and relevant experience in Higher Education and/or a comparable complex organisation.

At all levels we are looking for individuals who can demonstrate tact, discretion and an understanding of and respect for principles of confidentiality.
