About us

At UCL, we're driven by the belief that great ideas can change the world. As one of the world's leading universities, we're home to pioneering research, exceptional teaching and a diverse global community. Behind everything we do is a Finance Division that helps shape the university's future by providing the insight, strategy and financial expertise that enable innovation to thrive. Joining our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team means becoming part of a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where your work will directly influence strategic decisions across one of the UK's most prestigious institutions.

About the role

We're looking for a Financial Analyst to join our FP&A Analysis team, where you'll play a key role in helping UCL make informed, data-driven decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful insight. You'll develop and enhance sophisticated financial models, support long-term forecasting and scenario planning, and provide analysis that helps senior leaders understand financial trends, risks and opportunities. You'll take ownership of key models, including UCL's Tuition Fee and Pay models, while working closely with colleagues across Finance to improve planning, forecasting and financial performance. No two days are the same-you'll combine technical modelling with strategic thinking to support decisions that shape the future of the university.

About you

You'll be an analytical finance professional who enjoys solving complex problems and using data to influence decision-making. You'll bring experience of financial analysis, working with large and complex datasets, and developing robust financial models for forecasting and planning. You're highly proficient in Excel, confident communicating insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, and enjoy collaborating with others to improve processes and ways of working. A professional accounting qualification, experience within higher education or another large, complex organisation, and knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Oracle Financials or Axiom EPM would be advantageous, but aren't essential. If you're looking for a role where your analysis will have real strategic impact within a globally recognised institution, we'd love to hear from you.

What we offer

As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits:

  • 41 Days holiday (27 days annual leave, 8 bank holidays and 6 closure days)
  • Additional 5 days' annual leave purchase scheme
  • Defined benefit career average revalued earnings pension scheme (CARE)
  • Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan
  • Immigration loan
  • Relocation scheme for certain posts
  • On-Site nursery
  • On-site gym
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption pay
  • Employee assistance programme: Staff Support Service
  • Discounted medical insurance
