University College London (UCL) wishes to appoint a School Administrator. The post holder will be based at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, a world-leading faculty ranked #1 in the world for Built Environment studies and #1 in the UK for its research environment. The post holder will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations including HR administration, finance and procurement, sustainability and IT administration within the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bloomsbury and UCL East Campuses. This is a fixed-term, full-time position for 12 months in the first instance.
The successful applicant will be expected to manage the current recruitment work with the Senior School Administrator to support department growth in line with UCL compliance criteria. They will be responsible for administering all financial transactions within the department promptly, accurately and in accordance with UCL’s Financial Regulations. The post holder will work closely with colleagues within the Operations Team to manage the shared inbox and provide an efficient and timely service to the department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a growing department alongside expanding and developing operational skills with an emphasis on HR, Recruitment, and Finance. The appointee is required to be educated to A Level or equivalent. They will also have experience of supporting an office in a role with a varied range of duties and demonstrable previous financial and HR experience. Knowledge of various work visa application types (skilled worker visas) is desirable.
The successful candidate will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a flexible approach to working within a team. They will be able to work accurately and with high attention to detail, as well as able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. They will also possess excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise their own workload.
The successful candidate will be able to work harmoniously with staff and students of all cultures and backgrounds and possess excellent stakeholder liaison and/or public engagement skills.
