We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support pharmacoepidemiology research using large healthcare databases (UK CPRD and linked datasets). The postholder will contribute to study design, data management, statistical analysis, and dissemination (reports/manuscripts) across projects including drug utilisation, self-controlled study designs, ADHD and pregnancy-related pharmacoepidemiology.
The postholder will:
- Contribute to the design and delivery of pharmacoepidemiology studies (including protocol development and analytic plans).
- Prepare and manage datasets, including cohort construction, variable definitions, and quality checks.
- Support statistical analyses according to the pre-defined plan.
- Support ADHD and pregnancy-related pharmacoepidemiology work.
- Contribute to manuscripts, conference abstracts, and presentations, support documentation and reproducible workflows.
This is a fixed-term role until 30th November. We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
Please note that salary will be on Grade 6B (£39, - £41, per annum). This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff.
It is essential for the candidate to:
- Have a master’s degree in public health/ nursing/ epidemiology/ pharmacy or closely related discipline.
- Have experience in managing research project.
- Have experience in organising public patient engagement event.
- Be able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Have been involved in scientific publications.
