You will join a vibrant and collaborative environment dedicated to advancing understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological disorders. The fellowship provides an opportunity to develop an independent research portfolio with real-world impact - whether through fundamental discovery, translational application, or the development of new technologies and models.

As a Senior Research Fellow, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering a novel research programme, contributing to both scientific excellence and the strategic growth of the wider neuroscience research community. Applications are welcomed from researchers working in any area of neurological disease research that involves human data or samples (including, but not limited to, iPSC, fluid biomarkers, post-mortem tissue, or neuroimaging). The panel will use your research project proposal to determine the appropriate host department within the Institute of Neurology and an appropriate line manager.

As a condition of the award, the Fellow will be required to be based, in whole or in part, at the Grays Inn Road site once open. This is an internal recruitment advert, available to eligible UCL workers who will have until 04 February to be considered for this role. The fellowship is available from 01 September and funded by the Frank Brake Trust for three years in the first instance.

You will have a novel research project proposal in an area of neurological disease that involves human data or samples that will demonstrably contribute to both scientific excellence and the strategic growth of the wider neuroscience research community. You will also have a PhD in a relevant discipline, prior postdoctoral research experience with a track record of publications or securing research funding, and experience of supervising students and/or staff. Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a passion for developing scientific technologies in innovative areas and a commitment to impactful, reproducible research and research integrity.

This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.
