We are seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) within the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science, primarily based at the Royal Free Campus, to provide cover during a period of parental leave. The post-holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, with a particular focus on the BSc/MSci in Medical Innovation and Enterprise programme.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record and passion for teaching in higher education. As research and teaching are closely linked within the Division, applicants should also have research experience relevant to the programme’s subject areas, such as medical innovation and translation, biomedical enterprise, biotechnology, regenerative medicine, nanomedicine, stem cell therapy, tissue engineering, and/or biomaterials science. The role involves developing and delivering effective teaching materials for both online and face-to-face learning. Candidates should adopt a reflective approach to their teaching practice and be willing to engage with pedagogy, including obtaining recognition through qualifications such as Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate a student-focused approach, foster connectivity between research, enterprise, and education, and enhance the overall student experience by promoting creativity and critical thinking. This is a fixed-term contract starting immediately, covering a period of parental leave for 12 months.
The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate in a relevant area of biotechnology, medical innovation or business management. Candidates close to PhD completion will be considered for Grade 7. Experience in research, translation and/or teaching in the field Medical Innovation and/or Enterprise in the fields of biotechnology and medical innovation. Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. A recognised qualification in teaching and learning in higher education.
