This role sits within the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) Hub delivered by Imperial College London, University College London, Queen Mary University of London and King's College London. You will play a key part in supporting innovation in applied health and social care research, with a particular focus on advising industry partners and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the health technology, medical technology, and life sciences sectors.

As a specialist in translational approaches and an expert in research design, you will provide high-quality methodological, regulatory, and strategic advice to innovators, clinicians, academics, and health and social care professionals. You will contribute to the NIHR RSS Specialist Service for Industry, supporting the development of competitive funding applications, facilitating routes to market, and helping to translate innovative ideas into real-world practice.

This is an open-ended contract with fixed-term funding until 30th September in the first instance. This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.

You will bring a strong background in applied health or social care research, underpinned by a PhD or equivalent experience, with expertise in translational research, quantitative methods, and the development or review of funding applications. You will be skilled at engaging with diverse partners, including SMEs, academics, and clinicians. Excellent communication and consultancy abilities are essential, along with a clear understanding of the regulatory, governance, and funding pathways that support innovation. Highly organised and collaborative, you will be able to work across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to translating innovative ideas into impactful health and social care research.
