University College London (UCL) wishes to appoint a Research Fellow in Infrastructure and International Development (Maternity Cover). The post holder will be based at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment, a world-leading faculty ranked #1 in the world for Built Environment studies and #1 in the UK for its research environment. The post holder will carry out teaching, research, and programme administration within the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, in the field of infrastructure and international development, focussing on issues related to the global south and consistent with the vision and mission of The School. This role is available from 17 April until 16 April as maternity cover.
About You (Key requirements)
- The successful applicant will be expected to produce high quality publications and other research outputs.
- To prepare written reports and present research findings for project review purposes.
- To participate and lead in knowledge exchange activities, training and exploitation and to work with a community of researchers, developers and other external stakeholders.
- Translation of the research into visual outputs for communication and engagement to communicate research outcomes nationally and internationally at online events, conferences and social media.
- Furthermore, to participate in departmental and faculty seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the School.
- As well as other administrative and related activities alongside engagement in continual professional development.
The appointee is required to have a PhD or near completion in a relevant field, and experience of working in a research environment with a track record of academic publications related to international development. They will have strong research skills and the ability to analyse and write up data. They will also have a proactive approach with project management and implementation skills; and administrative skills (time management), ability to meet deadlines and IT skills. The successful candidate will be able to work harmoniously with staff and students of all cultures and backgrounds and have stakeholder management experience and the ability to manage interdisciplinary partnerships effectively.
