About the role
Applications are invited for two full-time Lecturer in Pure Mathematics positions.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conducting an independent, high-level research programme in any area of pure mathematics
- Generating external income to support research programmes
- Submitting high-quality publications regularly in refereed journals and participating in national and international conferences
- Research student supervision
- Undergraduate and postgraduate project supervision
- Ability to liaise with colleagues and collaborate in a research team
Teaching:
- Teaching undergraduate level and postgraduate level courses in Mathematics
- Lecturing, tutoring, and project or dissertation supervision
- Research student teaching and supervision
- Curriculum development
- Contributing where necessary to the assurance and enhancement of teaching quality
- Recruitment and selection of students
Management and Administration:
- Undertaking administrative tasks within the Department of Mathematics, and within UCL more widely, in line with responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department
- Attending, and where needed, leading relevant committee meetings
- Assisting with staff recruitment and assessment
- Complying with departmental policies on safety and other matters
The post holder is expected to actively follow UCL policies, including Equal Opportunities and Race Equality policies and to maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health.
