A not for profit organisation dedicated to bringing arts and crafts to all ages and abilities. We save useful items from going to landfill by running a community scrapstore for members and the general public to visit. The store is full of art and craft items which they can take for their own projects.

About this opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help us open the store for a couple of hours a week to sort through the donated items for display, and meet and greet members, helping them find the items they are looking for. A full induction will be given for any volunteers. We prefer two volunteers are on duty per session so you can bring a friend, or be placed with an existing volunteer. There is no upper age limit for this role, however please be aware that this position may involve some heavy lifting, as occasionally donated boxes of items may contain heavy materials, however this is not often the case.

Currently we have vacancies on a Monday from 3.30pm – 5.30pm and Tuesday 9.30 – 11.30am. We want to open the scrapstore more often so whatever day of the week or weekend suits you we can probably accommodate. We are looking for someone who can make a regular 2 hour a week commitment.

For more information please either come in and see us at Wealden Volunteering, or call us on 01825 760019, or email us at office@wealdenvolunteering.org.uk.
