The club was formed in July 2014 by a merger of Uckfield Town and A.F.C. Uckfield, both clubs with a long-established history dating back to the 1800s. Now playing in the Southern Combination Football League Division One from their home ground “The Oaks”, A.F.C. Uckfield Town is in a very exciting transition period.
We’re recruiting match day volunteers to help with operating our home games at The Oaks on Eastbourne Road. There are a wide range of jobs and roles on match days to make the occasion run smoothly, including:
- Handling gate entries
- Food preparation
- Running the bar
- General help around the ground with tasks
Everything contributes to creating a positive experience for supporters and helps the club to generate funding to keep operating. This role is open to anyone aged 12 or over, making it a great opportunity for younger volunteers doing DofE to complete their volunteering commitments. However, aspects such as running the bar are for volunteers aged 18+ only.
Whether your passion for the game is still developing or you’ve seen the sport change from the terraces over the years, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in local grassroots football. By volunteering, you’ll enjoy free entry to home games.
Matches usually take place on Saturday afternoons, with the occasional midweek evening fixture, and run from late July through to early May.
