About this opportunity
It’s important to provide accessible recreational facilities for the over 50s and wider community. As a volunteer Receptionist within the Lewes House of Friendship (LHOF) you’ll be presenting a smart and professional image with a welcoming approach. You will have a sociable attitude, be reliable and honest, empathic, a good listener, and have a love of meeting and greeting new people. You will also enjoy getting involved with general administration.
LHOF provides a restaurant, activities and events space in the heart of Lewes. We will provide you with all the training and support required for the role. You will act as first point of contact for potential customers, clients and visitors. You will answer the centre’s main telephone line and respond to all enquiries regarding the centre’s activities and facilities, taking bookings for lunches and activities, meeting and greeting people and talking to visitors sitting in reception. You must be friendly and have an interest in working with and for the benefit of people in later life.
We are currently looking for a volunteer to cover reception on Wednesday mornings from 9.30am-1.30pm.
