About this opportunity Ridgewood Village Hall operates as a space for events and regular clubs/groups to meet, situated on the Ridgewood estate in the South of Uckfield. It’s a registered charity, managed by local volunteers. Every Mind Matters is a national initiative to promote mental health and wellbeing, encouraging people feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed to speak to others who have had similar experiences, and make small changes to help.

We are currently seeking both a Lead Volunteer and Assistants to help with running our Thursday Afternoon Every Mind Matters group. Ideally, any applicants will have experience working with or have lived experience of mental health challenges, and can use these to support others on their recovery journey. This is a non-clinical role, where you will be speaking to attendees, fostering trust and sharing personal recovery experiences, and promoting hope, empowerment, and mutual support.

Volunteers play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and recovery-focused space that encourages connection and personal growth. Due to the nature of these roles, a DBS check is required; however, we will cover this free of charge.

If you are available on a Thursday Afternoon, and feel you have the right experience or skills to help out, with just a few hours a week you can make a positive impact on the lives of others.
