The Intelligent Medical Imaging Research lab at UC Irvine has an open position for an Assistant Project Scientist with expertise in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), medical imaging, image processing, and deep learning. The lab's focus is on motion-robust magnetic resonance imaging using pulse sequence design, image reconstruction, and real-time image processing, for brain, body, and fetal applications.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will lead projects and develop new MRI and image processing techniques for enhanced medical imaging.
  • This includes developing new MRI techniques such as diffusion MRI, functional MRI, and quantitative MRI, as well as algorithm and software development.
  • The role involves leading projects, supervising junior researchers, students, and postdocs, and preparing scientific papers, presentations, and reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated deep knowledge and experience in magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Experience in C++/Python/CUDA programming for deep learning.
  • Development of new deep learning methods for MRI.
  • Experience in MRI image reconstruction, motion and distortion correction.
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
