Were looking for an ambitious category and insight manager to join our UK & I business. Reporting to the Head of Category and Insight, this new role will be pivotal in driving category growth and business success.
This role will be responsible for building category strategies, generating actionable insight, partnering with our commercial and marketing teams, and driving category performance for our key customers across out of home and retail channels.
The Role
- Build and implement category strategies aligned with business strategy
- Identify gaps in the market and opportunities for growth through market and consumer insight
- Generating actionable insights out of multiple data sources including Neilson, shopper data and other syndicated data sources as well as commissioning bespoke research when required
- Act as a strategic partner to commercial and marketing teams, leveraging multiple data sources to support decision making through actionable insight, strategic reviews and category initiatives
- Build strong relationships with key customers in retail and OOH channels, providing regular range reviews, category insight, and recommendations to drive joint business plans
- Support new product development, innovation and our product portfolio strategies through meaningful insight
- Performance tracking of the coffee category, including pricing, competitor performance and performance of our own brands, providing regular reports and updates to key stakeholders and monitor movements in the wider beverage industry
- Manage external relationships with existing and potential data providers
The Person
- Proven experience in a category management or insight role, within FMCG, coffee or retail
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets and deliver actionable insights
- Experience with syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar, customer loyalty & shopper data platforms)
- Proficiency in tools including Excel, Power BI and Powerpoint
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and drive change through insight
- Commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
