Overview
As Research Scientist Macrophage Immunology at UCB in Slough, you will drive the patient-centric pre-project portfolio by enabling discovery and progression of therapeutic molecules. You will generate and analyse in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo data, develop translational assays, and explore mechanisms of action to identify novel immunology strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Resolution of Inflammation focus area to inform scientific decisions across research and clinical development. Responsibilities
- Design and conduct in vitro experiments supporting target biology
- Generate translational assays and complex cell culture models
- Apply immunology techniques including coculture, 3D models, and flow cytometry
- Analyse large datasets (RNA sequencing and proteomics)
- Develop and apply data analysis pipelines using Python, SQL, and R
- Interpret results and present findings to diverse audiences
Key requirements
- PhD in immunology or related field
- Post-PhD experience in academia or industry
- Strong background in immunology and disease biology
- Experience with high-dimensional datasets and multi-omics data
- Demonstrable experience in macrophage biology
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or R for data analysis
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
