Overview

In this role you will lead the non-clinical PKPD strategy within the QCP function to enable quantitative translation from preclinical data to patient outcomes. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape drug candidates from discovery through clinic, applying modelling and simulation to inform decisions. You will represent PKPD interests externally and contribute to the scientific reputation of QCP and UCB. The position offers involvement in strategic collaborations and regulatory support, with a hybrid work setup in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the nonclinical PKPD strategy for projects
  • Communicate findings effectively and ensure implementation in projects
  • Translate in vitro and in vivo nonclinical data into predicted patient efficacy and safety
  • Initiate multifunctional collaborations to advance drug candidates
  • Build PKPD models with sufficient complexity for hypothesis testing and decision-making
  • Represent QCP interests in mechanistic PKPD discussions and enhance scientific reputation
  • Provide input for regulatory study protocols, reports and submissions

Key requirements

  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology and disease/drug mechanisms
  • Proven PKPD methods applicability in drug discovery and development
  • Experience developing and executing non-clinical PKPD strategies from discovery to clinic
  • Leadership experience in a matrix environment with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with modelling and simulation tools (Phoenix, Berkeley Madonna, R, Monolix)
