The business unit delivers against the objectives of UCAS charity and operates UCAS Media (UCAS’s commercial subsidiary) to help fund UCAS’s charitable operations. For the charity, the objective is to provide everyone with information, advice and guidance to make informed decisions on their next steps. This is delivered via our media ecosystem, which consists of information, advice and guidance on ucas.com, social media across various channels, email, live events and webinars. For UCAS Media, the objective is to generate revenue through paid collaborations with higher education providers and commercial brands seeking to reach students. All brands using our media ecosystem and insight services must align with our framework. All profits generated are gift aided to UCAS the charity and fund charitable objectives, such as the recent announcement that students in receipt of free school meals will no longer need to pay the UCAS application fee.
About The Role
35.00 contractual hours.
This post holder leads the marketing for one of UCAS’s key audiences (students, parents, teachers, providers, employers, industry/commercial). You will build the audience and support their journey with UCAS, work to milestones in the cycle, launch new products and drive traffic to the UCAS estate. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team across Content, Sales, Product, Operations, Events and more, taking responsibility for the audience marketing strategy from start to finish.
Key accountabilities
- Work with events, content, operations and sales teams to drive value for customers, establishing engagement and growth strategies.
- Develop a structured customer acquisition and retention strategy to optimise engagement.
- Project manage on- and offline marketing campaigns for acquisition and lead generation, supporting project targets.
- Define and lead the development of the UCAS B2C brand/product story and proposition, bringing it to life through engaging content.
- Manage the development of all marketing activity through creative and design teams, acting as the primary liaison with internal clients and external agencies as required.

Skills, qualifications, and experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a Marketing discipline or demonstrated equivalent work experience.
- Significant experience in B2B or B2C marketing with an in-depth understanding of the education or youth market segment.
- Extensive digital campaign management and measurement experience.
- Detailed knowledge in aligning content and marketing activity.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering results and excellent project management skills.
- Experience in building and nurturing internal and external relationships.
- Experience leading or managing a team.
- Creative thinker who can also implement outcomes.
